How To Make A Monogram Cake Topper

Photo of funny monogram cake topper Do you want to know how to make a monogram cake topper but you do not know where to start? Well this article s designed to give you a few tips to get you started. Here are a few easy steps to guide you.
  1. First you will need to purchase 3 silver or gold letters, deciding what colour you want is entirely up to you. Depending on what size cake you have, will depend on the size of your letters. The font of the letters is really up to what you desire. You may like curvy letters or block or maybe even print, it is up to you. When choosing your letters you need to get the first letter of the brides given first name, the grooms first letter of the given name and the last name.

  2. Step 2 requires you to lay the letters you have acquired on a flat surface. Now place the brides initial on the left and the grooms given initial on the right leaving a gap in between. Now place the grooms last name initial so it is in the centre of the other two initials but so it is slightly overlapping them. Now with a pencil lightly trace a line on both outside letters where the centre letter overlaps.

  3. Now you need to get a sharp cutting object and cut along the traced lines of both letters. You can use a needle to gently file back any hard to reach corners and grooves.

  4. Now you need to purchase some rubber cement and fill in the grooves then press the letters together into place. Hold them tightly together keeping the pressure on them for at least 1 minute, and then leave it sit after that for 10 to 15 minutes so it can dry completely.

  5. All you have to do with step 5 is get some small flat back crystals and with some graft glue gently start sticking the crystals onto your monogram, make sure that the entire surface is covered. If any glue escapes over the edges then simply wipe clean. Let this dry for a while.

  6. Lastly collect 2 plastic spikes and apply rubber cement to one end of each spike. Press the first spike to the bottom of the first letter firmly. After a few minutes do the same thing with the last letter with the second spike. Make sure both spikes are even and straight as well as opposite, so it does not stand uneven on the cake.
And there you have it, a simple way of making your very own monogram cake topper.
